1200 tropical plant species

You can take a bus from the west bus terminal in Sanya to Xinglong town (about 90 minutes). From there 15 minutes with taxi. A taxi from Sanya will reach the garden in one hour. Your trip follows the eastern highway direction Haikou and turn later off to another way leading up to higher levels with beautiful nature and views.

By the entrace, you will meet a girl guiding around in Chinese-English. There are about 1 200 tropical plant spiecies to study. The names of the plantes are written on plates in Chinese and Latin. Take a flora book with you, so you can read the Latin names and also those in your language.

Xinglong tropical Garden was established in 1957 and has been developed to a very high status among other tropical Gardens in Hainan and the world. The area is 38,6 hectares. The funtions content scientific research, popular sience education, production of for example coffee, cacao, tea and spices.

 
 

The garden has five functional areas:
1. Ornamental plants area.
2. Experimental demonstration area.
3. Scientific development area.
4. Stereoscopic raising area.
5. Eco-recreation area.

Xinglong Tropical Botanical Garden has been honored with many famous titles from different organisations. It is very, very interesting for every visitor in Hainan, even if the purpose only is to find recreation in an unforgettable nature.

The free test of tea, coffee and hot mixed drinks is a very good final of the visit. You can also to a cheap price buy a rich selection of tropical products, also from the garden.
